Specialist Factual New Talent Pitch

Mandrake Films ran the Specialist Factual New Talent Pitch at Sheffield Docfest on 11th June, in collaboration with Discovery Channel Europe, chaired by James Cracknell OBE. The winner was Karl Byrne, Science and Interpretation Officer at Mindworks in Glasgow. Karl will make a new talent film with the Discovery Channel. Specialist Factual Documentary in Practice

Mandrake Films Created a 12 week course in Specialist Factual Documentary with Queen Mary, University of London. The course ran at the QM Mile End Campus in the Film Studies dept,  autumn term 2010. Watch this space for future dates, and Click here or further information.

Industry panels at Sheffield Docfest

Since 2008 we have run  panels and workshops on science and media, working with experts and specialist factual documentary with  Wellcome Trust and Queen Mary University. In 2010 we launched the Specialist Factual New Talent pitch with Discovery Channel, the first presenters pitch at Docfest. On the panel were commissioning editors from Ch4 Science, BBC, Open University, Wellcome Trust and Discovery Channel.
